Best and Worst INCOME STREAMS For Publishers and Creators
This week, we’re ranking the 25 most popular income streams and product types.
A few takeaways:
1) “Vibe products” could be the new digital products
It used to cost millions to build software, so you had to chase a huge market.
Now, with AI, the cost of building software is approaching zero. That means you can go after small, narrow problems traditional SaaS companies won’t touch.
Just like the internet reduced the cost of content creation to zero — and led to the rise of millions of niche digital products. AI will do the same for software.
Founders who already have an audience are in the best position to capitalize.
2) The best offers pay you twice
1:1 coaching looks like a bad business.
You sell your time. You can only take on so many clients.
But it's one of my favorites, because of what it leads to.
You get paid to TALK to your customers. This helps you deeply understand your customers' problems and goals.
And that data will help you launch a more scalable product.
These second-order effects are important:
A book works the same way. You won't make much on the book itself. But it can turn you into an authority, generate leads, and become become the foundation for another product or service.
Speaking is similar. Most people won't get paid much to speak, but the value comes from improving your skills, network, and getting live feedback. Plus, the attendees you can convert to clients.
3) Courses are F-teir and DFY services are S-tier
5 years ago, I'd have told you to build a course and stay away from services and agencies. Today it's flipped.
AI has crushed traditional online courses
And,
AI has helped agencies that can automate and productize their services
Every income stream that made S tier has one thing in common:
AI can't replicated or disrupt it.
