1) The MAGIC formula (grow your list organically)
Most people struggle to get emails from social because they're not using all 5 of these tactics: Magnets (lead magnets), Asks (pre and post CTAs), Giveaways (comment to get), Inbox (DMs to new followers), and Complete profile (optimized social bio).
Introducing all 5 could 5X-10X your organic growth.
The biggest one? Lead magnets. Stop begging people to sign up for your newsletter. Instead, bribe them with short, actionable content they can consume in under 15 minutes.
And don't create them from scratch.
Pull from newsletters, social posts, or videos you've already published.
2) Post sign-up surveys (get first-party data + phone numbers)
Everyone should have a post-newsletter sign-up survey. Mine has 41,000+ responses with an 87% completion rate.
The kicker: 17% of respondents gave me their phone number by simply adding an optional SMS question at the end. We've made $100k+ from SMS marketing alone.
3) The WE-PAC welcome email
Your welcome email is your first impression. A great one boosts the engagement and sales of every email you send after it.
WE-PAC stands for: Welcome, Expectations, Primary inbox (ask them to move you there), Ask for a reply (a simple 1-word reply, not an open-ended question), and Click a link.
If subscribers take those 3 key deliverability actions — click, move to primary, and reply — you'll stay out of promotions and spam.
4) The deliverability detox
Your open rate sucks because you're sending to subscribers who haven't opened in months.
Create a Base Sending Segment (BSS) of your most active readers — people who signed up in the last 10 days, opened in the last 30 days, or clicked in the last 60 days.
Send only to this segment for a week. Then slowly expand it over 4 weeks. You'll get MORE unique opens and clicks by sending to FEWER subscribers.
5) The newsletter flywheel
Every newsletter you write should generate 5-10 pieces of social content using the ADAPT framework: Amplify (expand one section into a full post), Direct (summarize the newsletter), Ask (share a question or poll), Pull (post a great one-liner), and Transcribe (turn it into a video script).
50 newsletters per year = 250+ social posts per year.
Create once. Distribute forever.
These 5 frameworks are the difference between newsletters that grow and newsletters that stall.
